We want to announce the arrival of our new Captain/Coach Mark Harrison! Mark joined our club last season and took on the 1st XI Captaincy and showed us some really positive results!
When Mark joined us last season, he brought with him a wealth of experience from his 18 years at Bayswater Cricket Club, most recently playing in their 2nd XI and working within the Leadership Group. He has taken on a large role from our previous Captain/Coach of many years Nick Bole-Brown, whom we thank immensely for all his support and help through the previous seasons.
During last season (17/18), Eastfield launched a junior mentorship program with senior players. This allowed the senior players to work with their junior counterparts and guide them in their cricket careers at Eastfield. This season, Mark is looking to continue the junior mentorship program this season, hoping it will become a strong influence in the Eastfield community.
Mark is also looking forward to working with each team to bring Eastfield closer together, creating a stronger, fun and easy going atmosphere going into the new 18/19 season, and might even be able to get us a few sneaky premierships. ?
Welcome to the nest Mark Harrison, we have a good strong season ahead of us!
Wow! What an awesome night had by all who attended our Family Christmas Party! A big thanks to all in our Eastfield Cricket Club community who helped make this event possible. In particular, Cam Rodg our Junior Co-ordinator who continues to make this event bigger and better every single year. A big thanks to Mathew Holland for the jumping castle along with his uncle, who we hear is very good friends with Santa. Thank you to all the Junior coaches and other volunteers on the night also. Without volunteers great times at our club just wouldn't be possible. Merry Christmas to all! ... See MoreSee Less
Last night the Friends of Eastfield Park held a meeting at our Cricket Club. It was well attended by club members and the FOEP with positive dialogue occurring amongst all attendees. The main objective was to discuss the future of the park for stakeholders. Currently Maroondah Council are yet to formalise the final plans for the Eastfield Enhancement Plan but it is anticipated that these will be released in the next 12 - 18 months. This final plan will then be open for further approval, discussion by all interested parties. Last night a complimentary project was raised. Melbourne Water's Daylighting of Tarralla Creek. Tarralla Creek is a natural creek that has been piped. It currently is underground and runs behind the northern boundary of our clubrooms. The conceptual plans of 'Re-imagining Tarralla Creek can be viewed below. It makes for an interesting and lengthy read, but it is valuable.
Tonight is our big Family Christmas Party down at Benson Oval. We are very excited for this event and would love to see as many Senior players with families and Junior families there as possible. There won't be any training tonight due to this celebration. Don't forget your picnic blanket or deck chairs too! #oneclub#EaglesFamily#rdca#christmasparty... See MoreSee Less
